The importance of oral skills

Engineering or any other studies or job is not only about having much knowledge of its topic. Nowadays, when everything is really equal: there many engineers leaving university with the same concepts, technologies in every company are very similar, etc…; when buying one product or another, or employing one person or another, other facts are taking into consideration.

One of them, apart from the first impression, is marketing and in case of people the way they talk, how they can express themselves in public and the languages they know. That is what really makes the difference. What would you think of a man that in an important event performs THIS? It subtracts value to the company he is working to. No matter what he could have already done before that it will be a black point on his career.

What is closer to us, as future engineers, is to do presentations to companies which will have to decide to choose our project or another. That is the moment when failure is not an option and performances like the one we can see in the link lead the project to a breakdown.
